DJ Stylez

Karim Barkouki also known as DJ Stylez was born and raised in Dubai. He began his passion for music at an early ag when tapes and vinyl were more common than CD’s. Karim spent his allowance on buying tapes from the record stores creating a mini music library to begin his musical journey. At the age of 14, little Stylez discovered a recording technique to blend songs continuously using cassettes which enabled him to create his own mix- tapes. In the late 90’s, Stylez started DJ-ing for friends at house parties, school graduations and proms carrying a case of tapes that almost resembled a lunchbox. In 2005, Stylez placed 1st at the “Battle of the DJ’s” competition held in the American University of Sharjah.

After playing for a good number of gigs, Stylez began to excel in the club scene where he played in some of the top venues in the Emirates mainly as well as other countries. Crystal, Movida and 360 to name a few.He was invited by the Infusion magazine to play at the Full Moon party held at the Sanctuary Club, Atlantis Hotel as part of the top twenty DJ›s in the Emirates and top ten for the Urban and Commercial music category. 2014 was an extremely busy year - spinning at fashion events and fashion shows such as the Moschino 2014 pre-season launch in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the Armani store opening at the Mirdiff City Center and Formula 1 at the Yas Island. Karim has also warmed up for a few international acts such as Nicki Minaj (Live in concert), Donaeo, Kevin Little, Fuse ODG, Blackstreet and 112. DJ Stylez was also the official DJ for the FIFA Beach World Cup soccer event held in Dubai and was called to host the Jebel Ali Racecourse after party. After playing for several types of events, Karim was happy to try something new. He was contacted by a charity organization (Superhope) to DJ and MC at Comicon 2015 at the trade center. Superhope helps kids fight Cancer through positive thinking and maintaining a good mental attitude.
